RemoCleaner: Privacy Policy & End-User License Agreement

PART 1: PRIVACY POLICY

RemoCleaner is designed as a minimalist utility for device maintenance. We operate under a "Privacy by Default" mandate, ensuring that your storage content remains private and localized.

Localized Functional Processing

RemoCleaner provides a single service: scanning your device for APK files, residual data, and temporary files.

Permission Requirements: To perform these scans, the Application requires "All Files Access" or specific storage permissions.

The Local Frontier: Every scan and analysis performed by RemoCleaner occurs strictly on your device. We do not possess the technical capability to view, upload, or store the contents of your files, the names of your documents, or your personal media on our servers.

Non-Collection of Personal Data: We do not request or harvest "Personal Data" such as your identity, contact details, or location.

Operational Third-Party Services

While your files never leave your device, we utilize specific third-party frameworks to maintain the application’s health and monitor our distribution efforts.

Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for crash reporting and performance monitoring. This allows us to receive technical "stack traces" if the app fails, helping us provide a stable utility.

Attribution and Analytics Platforms (e.g., Adjust, AppsFlyer): These tools allow us to identify which marketing campaigns led to an installation. They process non-sensitive technical identifiers like your Advertising ID (GAID or IDFA).

Data Integrity: These third parties only receive technical telemetry related to app usage (e.g., "App Installed" or "Scan Completed") and never the actual data found during a scan.

Legal Grounds for Processing Information

Our processing of information is justified under the following legal foundations:

Contractual Necessity: Local file scanning is the service you have contracted us to provide.

Legitimate Interests: We process pseudonymized technical data to ensure RemoCleaner remains functional across thousands of different device models and to optimize our growth.

Your Rights and Data Sovereignty

We recognize your absolute authority over your digital information. You are entitled to the following rights:

Right to Access: You may request a disclosure of any data we have collected about your device or usage.

Right to Rectification: You may request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete technical data associated with your interaction with the app.

Right to Deletion: You have the right to request the erasure of your data. For RemoCleaner, simply uninstalling the application removes all local records. For data held by our analytics partners, you may contact our DPO.

Right to Know (Sharing & Selling): You have the right to know if your data is shared or sold. RemoCleaner does not sell your personal data. Sharing is strictly limited to the technical service providers listed in Section 2 for the purposes of app maintenance and attribution.

Right to Object/Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a formal complaint with a data protection authority or regulatory body if you believe our practices are non-compliant with local laws.

Opting Out of Sharing and Selling

Although we do not sell your data, you can control the sharing of technical identifiers through the following methods:

Global Ad Tracking: You can choose to "Opt out of Interest-Based Ads" (Android) or "Limit Ad Tracking" (iOS) within your device's privacy settings.

Revoking Permissions: You can withdraw file access permissions at any time through your device settings, which will immediately cease all scanning activity.

Retention Periods and Circumstances

Local Scan Data: This data is ephemeral. It exists only in your device's temporary memory and is purged when the app is closed or when the cleaning process is completed.

Technical Telemetry: Data collected by third-party analytics (like Firebase) is retained for the minimum duration required to generate performance reports—typically between 12 and 26 months—after which it is deleted or anonymized.

Data Protection Officer (DPO)

We have appointed a Data Protection Officer to ensure your privacy is handled with the highest degree of care.

DPO Name: Benedict Thorne
